Cristiano Ronaldo has issued a passionate message to supporters on the eve of Al-Nassr’s Saudi Pro League opener, calling for their backing as the team looks to improve on last season’s third-place finish. The league began on Thursday, but Al-Nassr, runners-up in 2023/24, will kick off their campaign on Friday. Ahead of the game, Ronaldo shared a heartfelt post on X, writing: “Tomorrow, the league begins. We’ve trained. We’re ready. But we can’t do it alone... we need you. We’ll be there giving it everything we’ve got. Fighting for the badge, for the team, for every one of you. Will you be there with us all the way? Let’s make it unforgettable.”

The 40-year-old enters his third full season with the Riyadh-based club still searching for a maiden trophy with Al-Nassr. Despite the absence of silverware, Ronaldo has maintained his prolific form. Last season, he scored 25 goals in 30 appearances, along with three assists, finishing as the league’s top scorer.

Now, the Portuguese forward is eyeing a place among the Saudi Pro League’s all-time greats. Only Nasser Al Shamrani, Omar Al Somah, and Abderrazak Hamdallah have won the Golden Boot three times in the competition’s history, and Ronaldo has made clear his ambition to join that elite list.

For Al-Nassr, last year’s campaign ended with 70 points, behind champions Al-Ittihad and rivals Al-Hilal.
