After missing the bus for the upcoming Asia Cup, Shreyas Iyer has been included in the India A squad for the two multi-day matches against Australia, to be played in Lucknow from September 16. The Mumbai batter will lead the squad that has a few other recent Test players like Sai Sudharsan, Dhruv Jurel and Prasidh Krishna. Abhimanyu Easwaran had led India A in their previous assignment - in England.

As reported by Cricbuzz earlier today, Iyer has been given a prominent rolein the two A games. Jurel, who featured for India A on the tour of England and in the fifth Test at Oval too, has been named Iyer's deputy. Prominent domestic performers like Manav Suthar and Harsh Dubey have also found a spot in the squad. Ayush Badoni, who has been among the runs in the ongoing Duleep Trophy, has been picked, and as has wicketkeeper-batter N Jagadeesan, who scored 197 against North Zone just a day before the semifinal of the same tournament.
Meanwhile, KL Rahul and Mohammed Siraj, who aren't in the squad for the Asia Cup, will be added to the A squad in place of two others for the second fixture against Australia A that will begin on September 23. This will come as practice ahead of the home Test series against West Indies, starting on October 2.
After the two multi-day matches, India A and Australia A will partake in three one-day games on September 30, October 3 and October 5 in Kanpur.
