Sammy, 41, who was experiencing his first Test as the West Indies' coach, faced consequences after expressing his doubts about several controversial DRS decisions made at Kensington Oval during a post-play press conference.

The controversy was fueled by two caught-behind decisions. The first involved Australia's Travis Head, who was initially declared not out, and the second involved West Indies' Shai Hop, who was ruled out. Sammy also pointed out inconsistencies between lbw referrals for Roston Chase and Australia's Cameron Green.

Sammy stated, "When there's doubt in something, just be consistent across the board. From the images that we're seeing, the decisions are not fair enough for both teams... I just want fairness."

Sammy admitted to violating the ICC's code of conduct by making inappropriate comments regarding a match official.

In a separate event, West Indies fast bowler Jayden Seales also faced a 15% fine from his match fee due to his send-off to Australian captain Pat Cummins on the first day.

These disciplinary actions took place during a match in which Australia secured a 159-run victory, leading the series 1-0.

The teams are now set to compete in the second Test in Grenada, starting on Thursday.
