Yuki Bhambri and Michael Venus will take on Britain’s Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski in the US Open 2025 men’s doubles semifinals, setting up a clash between a rising pair and a proven powerhouse. For Bhambri, 35, this is a milestone moment — his first Grand Slam semifinal — alongside Venus, the 37-year-old New Zealander who already owns a French Open doubles crown.
Their opponents, Salisbury and Skupski, are the sixth seeds and the defending US Open champions. With multiple ATP titles and a reputation for calm under pressure, the British pair will be tough challengers when the two teams meet on Friday.
Bhambri and Venus, seeded 14th, have taken a tough road to the last four. In the Round of 16, they upset fourth seeds Kevin Krawietz and Tim Ptz 6-4, 6-4. The quarterfinal was even tighter, as they edged past Nikola Mektic and Rajeev Ram in three sets 6-3, 6-7(8), 6-3. Bhambri called the win “nerve-wracking,” but it also showed how far he has come in his doubles career.
The last Indian to reach this stage at the US Open was Rohan Bopanna, who made the 2023 final with Matthew Ebden. Bhambri’s run revives memories of Leander Paes, Mahesh Bhupathi, and Bopanna, who once made doubles success a proud tradition.
Now, with just one more win, Bhambri and Venus could reach the championship match. For Indian tennis, that would be a historic breakthrough, and for Bhambri, a dream within touching distance.
Yuki Bhambri’s match in the US Open will start not before 1:30 AM IST (September 5), 4 PM local time (September 4).
It’s the third match of the day at the Louis Armstrong Stadium.
Star Sports Network has the broadcasting rights for US Open 2025. Live Streaming of the match can be watched on the JioHotstar app.
