Quarter-final action in the singles draw will continue at the US Open 2025 on Wednesday, 3 September. After Novak Djokovic outclassed Taylor Fritz in a four-set battle to book a semi-final clash against Carlos Alcaraz, who demolished 20th seed Jiri Lehecka, Jannik Sinner will lead the charge in Wednesday's quarter-final fixtures.
The World No. 1 is set to face his compatriot Lorenzo Musetti in the final men's singles quarter-final at Arthur Ashe Stadium during the night session.
Sinner will enter the match as the firm favourite. Not only does he hold a 2-0 record against Musetti, but his form has bordered on the superhuman, resembling more an AI-generated routine than a flesh-and-blood competitor. His opponent in the last 16, Alexander Bublik, showered Sinner with praise after being dismantled in straight sets on Monday.
Wednesday's action will begin with Felix Auger-Aliassime, the 25th seed, facing Australia's Alex de Minaur, seeded eighth. Auger-Aliassime has been enjoying a resurgent run at Flushing Meadows, having toppled third seed Alexander Zverev and then Andrey Rublev to reach the last eight of a Grand Slam for the first time since 2022.
In the women's draw, second seed Iga Swiatek will meet eighth seed Amanda Anisimova in what promises to be a thrilling quarter-final encounter. The tie carries added history, with Anisimova seeking redemption after her crushing defeat to the Polish star in this year's Wimbledon final, where she lost 0-6, 0-6. Reduced to tears in London, Anisimova is eager for a shot at revenge in New York.
"Who would have thought we [Anisimova and Swiatek] would be meeting again so soon? I'm just very excited, and it's going to be a great match, I hope, this time. But I'm feeling good, and she is playing some great tennis. So, I really hope that we put on a great performance," Anisimova said ahead of the match.
Another blockbuster women's quarter-final will see an in-form Naomi Osaka take on 11th seed Karolina Muchova.
There will also be Indian interest on Day 11. Doubles specialist Yuki Bhambri will be in action in the men's doubles alongside his partner Michael Venus, as they take on the higher-ranked pair of Rajeev Ram and Nikola Metkic.
