Mahavtar Narsimha, an animated film, has remarkably sustained its box office run for over a month, driven by religious sentiments and strong visuals. Despite competition from 'Saiyaara' and major releases like 'War 2' and 'Coolie', it continues its strong performance even into its fifth week. The film's total collection in India across all languages now stands at Rs 237.1 crore.

'Mahavtar Narsimha' is creating history as for an animation film to continue its run at the box office for more than a month in today's day and age is no small feat. The film doesn't have any big stars but this mythology film backs strongly on religious sentiments and the stunning use of VFX and visuals along with the dialogues. The film has continued to stand tall amidst the wave of 'Saiyaara' and even stood strong when two big movies like 'War 2' and 'Coolie' released. Mahavatar Narsimha continues its strong run at the box office even in its fifth week. The animated film showed a slight jump on its 5th Wednesday, thanks to Ganesh Chaturthi and collected Rs 2.25 crore. While it's a holiday in many parts of the country due to the festival, it saw a jump. But this is also great because due to Ganesh Chaturthi, many also do not prefer to go out of the house due to crowds on the road, especially in a state like Maharashtra. Collecting Rs 2.25 crore on fifth Wednesday, that too for an animated film, is huge. The total collection of the movie now stands at Rs 237.1 crore, according to Sacnilk. This is the total collection in India in all languages, which includes Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
The collection is much higher now than 'Sitaare Zameen Par' and 'Housefull 5' which had made Rs 167.3 crore (Hindi, Tamil, Telugu combined) and Rs 183.3 crore respectively. Even if we just calculate the Hindi collection of 'Mahavtar Narsimha', it is Rs 179 crore and that's still higher than 'Sitaare Zameen Par'. Directed by Ashwin Kumar, the film will now face fresh competition with the release of 'Param Sundari' this weekend. If the Sidharth Malhotra, Janhvi Kapoor starrer clicks with audiences, Mahavatar Narsimha’s momentum could slow down.
